About Me

I am Elise, an IT professional living in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. I am originally from Edinburgh but have moved about a bit through out my life. I am now very settled in Lanarkshire. I got interested in Dog Showing in 2010 when I was persuaded to give it a go. I now love it and it has totally changed my life.

A Family of Sheltie Lovers

So you may have gathered I love and show Shetland Sheepdogs. I come from a family of Sheltie owners with most of the extended family having kept Shelties. It was all started by my great uncle George. George Paton bred and exhibited Shelties under the Westlaw affix. George’s daughter, Eunice, and nieces, Joyce & Derena all fell in love with Shelties and adopted the breed. Only Derena, along with husband Norman (Murieston), followed George into the show ring until now.

I am the third generation of a ‘Sheltie Daft’ family to enter the world of Dog Showing. I really hope I do my family and all our dogs proud. Of course, I couldn’t do it without my mum, Joyce. Joyce is very much part of the team taking care of the day to day needs of the dogs. A big thanks to Derena and Norman who ‘persuaded’ me to enter Sassy in a show and got me bitten by the show bug.
